　　开幕式的：

　　当晚，众多英伦大牌摇滚乐队和歌手纷纷亮相演出，分别有解散已20年的平克・弗洛伊德(Pink Floyd)乐队、英国城市说唱流派第一人Dizzee Rascal、英国女歌手艾梅丽・桑德(Emeli Sande)以及北极猴子(Arctic Monkeys)等等。而少不了的还有一个注定被铭记的场景，前披头士成员保罗・麦卡特尼(Paul McCartney)带领数万人合唱《Hey Jude》，浓浓的怀旧感让在场的观众所有观众激动不已，整个奥运会开幕式无疑也是一个英伦摇滚盛会。
　　不可不提，开幕式第三幕的“迈向未来”响起了长达20分的摇滚音乐，其中包括甜心宝贝(Sugababes)的《Push the Button》、新浪潮乐团OMD的《Enola Gay》、Rizzle Kicks的《When I Was a Youngster》、果酱乐队(The Jam)的《Going Underground》、The Who乐队的《My Generation》。
